FORM 1-A: UNIVERSAL ACCESS STATEMENT

Our living stance on making the Qridian Archive open, readable, and welcoming to everyone.

We do not believe in architectural barriers. As two neurodivergent creators, we wanted to see if an immersive, digital desk experience could be inherently accessible right out of the box instead of forcing assistive tool users onto a stripped down, text-only alternative. Physical layout design carries a rich history that can be deeply intuitive and memorable when handled with care. Because this archive is a living project, it remains a delicate balancing act where we are constantly learning.

The two of us rarely agree on what a layout should look like. Bernie firmly believes an ideal website consists of raw text, viewing even basic paragraph breaks with suspicion, while Molly prefers communicating entirely through imagery and colour palettes. The digital desk interface we landed on somehow satisfies both of our opposing brains, and we hope it serves yours as well. If something on our desk fails to work for your specific setup, please tell us. We are real people on the other side of this screen, and we are listening.

PROTOCOL SPECIFICATIONS

1.0 SPATIAL LAYOUT AND CONTRAST

We intentionally stepped away from fluid, constantly shifting modern web interfaces. Relying on system-level monospace fonts creates a predictable visual grid that minimizes crowding and keeps characters exactly where you expect them. This typography pairs with gentle cream paper backgrounds and deep charcoal text to limit eye strain over long reading periods, while the distinct physical zones on the desktop layout help separate data sections instantly.
